Kebaya Cake Collection

A Kebaya is a traditional blouse-dress combination that originates from Indonesia and worn by women in Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei, Burma, Singapore and Southern Thailand.  It is sometimes made from sheer material such as silk, thin cotton or semi-transparent nylon or polyester, adorned with brocade or floral pattern embroidery.  Kebaya usually worn with a sarong or batik kain panjang, or other traditional woven garment such as ikat, songket with colorful motif.

In the Malacca, Malaysia, a different variety of kebaya is called "nyonya kebaya" worn by those of Chinese ancestry the Peranakan people.  The Nyonya kebaya is different in its famously intricately hand-beaded shoes (kasut manik) and use of kain with Chinese motive batik or imported printed or hand-painted Chinese silks.  Other than Malacca, the nyonya kebaya also popular in other straits settlements Penang and Singapore.

So here in Norbaini Cakes I have made so many Kebaya Cakes for my customers. Mostly they 

love to order The Red Kebaya.  So here are some samples of Kebaya Cakes made by me.

Assalamualaikum Everyone!

It has been awhile since I haven't updated my Cake Collection, but today I just want to share with all of my friends

that my cake has been presented to Malaysia's Prime Minister, YAB Datuk Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak for

"Malaysia's Chinese New Year Open House"

on 16th of February 2013 at Puchong Utama, Selangor.

This is the original picture given to me by the organizer. I've been told to make a 10" x 10" cake. But as a  Cake Decorator I feel that it can't be done. So, I changed the size of the cake 

to 16.5" (L) x 10" (H) x 16.5"(W). 

And this is the result.
