DOWN BY THE SALLEY GARDENS by WB Yeats

Down By The Salley Gardens

 by

William Butler Yeats

Down by the Salley gardens my love and I did meet;
She passed the Salley gardens with little snow-white feet.
She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
But I, being young and foolish, with her would not agree.

In a field by the river my love and I did stand,
And on my leaning shoulder she laid her snow-white
hand.
She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
But I was young and foolish, and now am full of tears.

Salam, Dear Friends!

Welcome to the final edition of Norbaini Cakes blog 2010, on this the last day of the year. And....speaking of finals.....

Yes, just like all other Malaysians, Chef Baini and family are ecstatic on the Malaysian national football team emerging victorious in the AFF Suzuki Cup football tournament just two days ago! Chef and family congratulate the 'Harimau Malaya' or Malayan Tigers who are the newly minted champions of soccer in Southeast Asia!

The incredible intimidation by the partisan Indonesian home crowd at the GELORA BUNG KARNO stadium at JAKARTA

Malaysian goalkeeper KHAIRUL FAHMI was truly outstanding that night!

 Well done boys!
Everyone in our country is proud of you!

Chef Baini begins today's blog with a reading of a delightful poem by the acclaimed Irish poet William Butler Yeats, who is a recipient of the Nobel Prize for literature in 1929. Its simple yet evocative words are so lyrical you can imagine them like music. It tells of a man who is regretting not listening the advice of his paramour and is reminiscing down at their special place which is the Salley Gardens. The moral of this poem is that you should always heed the advice of your loved ones.

Sound advice to end the year, wouldn't you agree?

Today's blog is a brief one: it presents a few sample of Chef Baini's work. These below are the Cupcake Hantaran ordered by Ms. Eleena Nasreen.

For that special touch, Chef Baini has draped the fondant over the cupcake's rim....

While the one below is one of Chef Baini's signature cakes; the moist chocolate ordered by Mdm. Anum for her eledest son's birthday.

Happy Birthday Luqman Hafeez!

proud parents of Luqman and Jasmin.

That's it for today, dear friends. Or maybe it should be: THAT'S ALL FOR THIS YEAR, DEAR FRIENDS! AND WHAT A YEAR IT HAS BEEN TOO!

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
AND THAT BEGINS TOMORROW!
