Salam once again, friends!
It seems like forever was the last time
when Chef Baini had a class at the Bagus Bakery
at Bukit Tinggi. Needless to say, Chef & Co.
were delighted to meet the staff there again!
Today's class in on the Kek Lapis.. A delicacy very commonly served
during the Eid Fitr festival....(that's Hari Raya Aidil Fitri to Malaysians!)
KEK LAPIS (LAYERED CAKE)
In Chef's previous blogs, she said that the
cake was easy to make, just the many repetitions
make it tedious and create an increasing probability
Today is a big day for Jannah too...
(She's the kid in the red 'T' shirt)...
She played the helpful assistant chef helping
anyone who asked...( Jannah has been watching her mom
make these cakes since she was 6 months old!)
The ketupat roll is essentially a rolled version of the kek lapis.
Like always, being well prepared is one key to success, so
both Chef and her team plus the students today were done by 5 pm!
You may ask, why is the Babam's so particular on time?
Because time is something we cannot regain should we
lose some...Benjamin Franklin crudely puts it,"Time is money".
Each student had to make time for this class. Chef Baini is acutely aware that
this is time away from family, from work. So Chef must make sure
that it is well spent, especially on a Sunday!
That's all for today, friends!
See you next time!
Love, Chef Baini.
