TWO-TIERED WEDDING CAKE HOMECLASS 24th NOVEMBER 2010

Salam again, dear friends!

Once again, welcome to Norbaini Cakes! Chef Baini apologises for bring so tardy in the upkeep of this blog, but recently Chef Baini has been extraordinarily busy with so many unforeseen things since the school holidays began. Its not as if the Norbaini Cakes blogspot was closed for renovation or something!

With so many friends waiting, Chef Baini has to keep all her friends up-to-date with what's happening to Norbaini Cakes! Chef Baini pledges to do better, and she will update this blog as often as she can. So, today's blog is on:

Uh-huh, with the school holidays on, its not just the rainy season; its the marrying season too.Chef Baini won't be surprised of many of you have been invited to at least 1 wedding within this 7 week holiday period. Thus it should come as no surprise that there have been many request for wedding cake classes and so today's class features the two-tiered wedding cake.

Naturally, there's a maverick now and then who prefers to buck the trend and she went ahead and did a three tiered wedding cake! Who is it? Well, read on and find out! We will begin at the end today and show all of you the process in reverse. Below is a picture of 1 of today's student's work.

And here is the step-by-step pictures of the process that made the cake....

As usual, here are some pictures of today's students hard at work.....

Earlier we showed you a picture of a 3 tiered cake. Made by whom? None other than Kak Mia....

Wedding cakes have to be a little grand, because well, its a grand red-letter day for the blessed couple; having the cake tall makes it easier to be seen by the wedding guests who have so sit way in the back! Notice the simple colours Kak Mia used. The white makes the drapery and flowers stand out very well.

This one above is made by Ms. Cheah Guat Im from Jitra, Kedah. Yes, she came all the way down here to attend today's class....

Now Kak Ros made this one (above); she opted for a light blue accent (in the form of flowers) for her cake...

AND....

Today's class featured a very special guest: Ms. Melyza who was once Ariff's  teacher and now Jannah's teacher at school. Jannah was a little nervous at having one of her teachers attending today's class, but she got over it quickly and assited Ms. Melyza in making the flowers...

Ms. Melyza chose red roses to make her cake more resplendent. She took this class so she could make a cake that she intended as a gift for her childhood chum who is getting married next week.

She professed this to be quite an experience for her, for now she understood why wedding cakes cost more than the average cake! Its the time and care that went in to make a cake that is worthy for newly-weds! Maybe next time she will make one for herself! Chef Baini and family will definitely look forward to that day!

All too quickly we've come to the end of today's blog post. Thank you for dropping by, dear friends. Take care and we will see you again very soon!
