DELICIOUS CUPCAKE HOMECLASS on the 17th of JUNE, 2011

The holiday getaway was great, but so was coming back home! Less than a week after Chef Baini got back from Singapore, she's back in action with another of her popular Delicious Cupcake class. Ever since she started the Delicious Cupcake class, requests for the class have been flooding in. Sometimes she has to make 2 classes in a month!

Today's class was no different....many friends popped in, some new, some regulars, to learn from Chef Baini the Delicious Cupcakes. So Chef Baini began with a little talk or briefing on cupcake making...

And of course, Chef Baini demonstrates herself, assisted by a volunteer, on the step-by-step approach on cupcake making...

Hey! Did you notice that the volunteer is a man? Its one of the rare days when a man comes over to learn to bake! And an England fan too, most likely!

Here he is again, hard at work...

Then he takes his seat to do his set of cupcakes, just like everybody else!

Today, Chef Baini let another volunteer lead the way for the rest of the class! Kinda like being a Chef herself.

She looks very comfortable handling the class all by herself!

While the rest take copious notes....

But soon enough everybody gets the hang of it and all Chef Baini needs to do now is get out of the way!

Quickly and surely, everyone is done and here are the fruits of their labour....

Ha-ha! Looks like someone forgot to put her cupcakes in the box before taking the picture!

All too soon we have come to end of the blog post. Chef Baini hopes that by reading this blog, you will get a feel of what you will go through and achieve if you attend a Chef Baini homeclass. And the Delicious Cupcakes are a great introduction to baking....even for men!

SAMPLES OF MY WORK

Salam, Dear Friends!
Welcome once again to Norbaini Cakes!

Today's post is a relatively short one, showcasing some of Chef Baini's latest  works.

These two cakes are for Erin's engagement ceremony......

And the Cupcake Hantaran below...

As is the pastry basket below........

Where are the tarts? Wait no longer!

This cake below is for Chef Baini's childhood chum Wawa...

This is the top piece....

 And this is the bottom piece....

And when the two are put together, this is what Wawa's cake looks like.....

These commemorative cupcakes are for the school teachers of
Chef Baini's son Ariff...It was for a teacher exchange programme.....

Finally, Chef Baini would like to show you this cake....

Chef Baini calls it a Blank Cake, because the owner would like
to decorate this cake herself with her choice of flowers! Whatever!

That's all for today, dear friends! Until next time,

Love always,

Chef Baini

DOWN BY THE SALLEY GARDENS by WB Yeats

Down By The Salley Gardens

 by

William Butler Yeats

Down by the Salley gardens my love and I did meet;
She passed the Salley gardens with little snow-white feet.
She bid me take love easy, as the leaves grow on the tree;
But I, being young and foolish, with her would not agree.

In a field by the river my love and I did stand,
And on my leaning shoulder she laid her snow-white
hand.
She bid me take life easy, as the grass grows on the weirs;
But I was young and foolish, and now am full of tears.

Salam, Dear Friends!

Welcome to the final edition of Norbaini Cakes blog 2010, on this the last day of the year. And....speaking of finals.....

Yes, just like all other Malaysians, Chef Baini and family are ecstatic on the Malaysian national football team emerging victorious in the AFF Suzuki Cup football tournament just two days ago! Chef and family congratulate the 'Harimau Malaya' or Malayan Tigers who are the newly minted champions of soccer in Southeast Asia!
The Malaysian Flag 'JALUR GEMILANG' (GLORIOUS STRIPES)

Malaysian super striker SAFEE SALI being hugged by by teammates after scoring his scorcher!!!

The incredible intimidation by the partisan Indonesian home crowd at the GELORA BUNG KARNO stadium at JAKARTA

Malaysian goalkeeper KHAIRUL FAHMI was truly outstanding that night!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

The Harimau Malaya (Malayan Tiger) logo...
and no, the slashes weren't done by the X-Man WOLVERINE!

 Well done boys!
Everyone in our country is proud of you!

Chef Baini begins today's blog with a reading of a delightful poem by the acclaimed Irish poet William Butler Yeats, who is a recipient of the Nobel Prize for literature in 1929. Its simple yet evocative words are so lyrical you can imagine them like music. It tells of a man who is regretting not listening the advice of his paramour and is reminiscing down at their special place which is the Salley Gardens. The moral of this poem is that you should always heed the advice of your loved ones.

Sound advice to end the year, wouldn't you agree?

Today's blog is a brief one: it presents a few sample of Chef Baini's work. These below are the Cupcake Hantaran ordered by Ms. Eleena Nasreen.

Cupcake Hantaran

For that special touch, Chef Baini has draped the fondant over the cupcake's rim....

While the one below is one of Chef Baini's signature cakes; the moist chocolate ordered by Mdm. Anum for her eledest son's birthday.

Happy Birthday Luqman Hafeez!

ordered by Madam Anum and her husband Mr. Hasleen;
proud parents of Luqman and Jasmin.

That's it for today, dear friends. Or maybe it should be: THAT'S ALL FOR THIS YEAR, DEAR FRIENDS! AND WHAT A YEAR IT HAS BEEN TOO!

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!
AND THAT BEGINS TOMORROW!
